Abstract
This reflective article intends, moving between philosophy and art (in this specific case, cinema), to raise the question of desire, that ingrained condition that we human beings have and that allows us, that is my hypothesis, to fulfill ourselves, reach some wisdom and be creative. I approach, first, the possibility of reaching knowledge of and from desire; Epicureanism, in a broad sense, will allow this rapprochement. Then, I focus on an analysis of desire in Ese oscuro objeto del deseo, a film open to a plurality of interpretations. I conclude by reaffirming that authentic philosophizing is attached to everyday things, so it cannot do without our desiring condition.
