Abstract
Romeo + Juliet is a hypermodern adaptation of a universal literature classic. With a vertiginous and eccentric style, respects the original play´s essence, telling faithfully the world know fiction of Verona´s lovers. The perspective of this paper, make a lecture of the film taking a few scenes and two coordinates: love and hate. We try to think, with the lacanian psychoanalysis theory, the role of these two dimensions in the history of the main characters, directing the analysis with the opposites destiny/subjective responsibility.
