Abstract
Considering the Argentinian film La León (Santiago Otheguy, 2007), the aim of this work is to investigate the emergence of violence when the semblances that guarantee the heterosexual masculine identity seems to be threatened. The proposed research is based on the hypothesis that suggests that the violent act emerges as a possible way to restore the reduced power of the virile semblance. Therefore, the violent act in La León, reintroduce the agent of that violence into a socially shared code that allows him to avoid the unstable threat, which is characterized by an homo erotic desire that becomes impossible to assimilate for the agent. A desire beyond the limits permitted by the virile ideal.
